Ka’ulu by Gentry in Kalaeloa Offers New Homes for Sale

Ka‘ulu by Gentry, the new residential community by Gentry Kalaeloa LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Gentry Homes Ltd., will open its six new model homes and official sales office on Saturday, Nov. 18. Encompassing nearly 30 acres, Ka‘ulu will feature a total of KA390 owner-occupied residential homes for local residents.

Ka‘ulu will have 262 attached townhomes with two- and three-bedrooms and enclosed single car garages priced from the low $600,000s. Ka‘ulu will also offer 128 single-family detached residences with 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, more than 1550 square feet of living space and a two-car enclosed garage priced from the low $900,000s.

Located behind Costco Wholesale Kapolei and next to the new Daniel K. Akaka VA Clinic, Ka‘ulu will provide 88 reserved housing units for residents earning up to 140% of O‘ahu’s median income. Prices for the reserved housing units will be from the low $600,000s.

Ka‘ulu will be the first residential community in the newly designated Kalaeloa Community Development District, fulfilling the vision of Kalaeloa as a Center of Excellence, or Wahi Ho‘okela, and providing a well-designed and livable residential community within Kalaeloa.

Quentin Machida, CEO and president of Gentry Homes says, “We are very pleased to offer the first new residential home community in Kalaeloa, which will continue Gentry’s trademark of well-designed energy-efficient homes for local families. Ka‘ulu is being built as a pedestrian- friendly community with ample open spaces and common recreational areas to give homeowners years of comfort and enjoyment. The homes will offer savings through optimal energy-efficient designs and features.”

The first completed homes will be available for occupancy by early 2024. Machida adds, “Just as we enjoy the popular resurgence of the ‘ulu tree today, the same will hold true for the Ka‘ulu planned community, which will bring a resurgence of life in Kalaeloa.

“Gentry strives for excellence throughout the entire design of this new community, while remaining respectful of the past and place. With thoughtful planning, generous open spaces and greenways, Ka‘ulu will become a place to connect with friends and family.”

The homes will be part of a condominium property regime and will be built in phases.

The Ka‘ulu homes have been designed using two complimentary architectural themes, “plantation” and “craftsman.” Both styles have a rich history in this region and Hawai‘i and adapt especially well to modern building materials and our tropical environment. All homes will have attractive front streetscapes and alley- loaded one- and two-car enclosed garages. Resident parking is limited to the garage spaces and individual driveways (single-car garages do have an additional tandem parking space), although ample guest spaces will be provided.

“With over 50 years of ‘People building quality homes and communities for a better Hawai‘i,’ Gentry looks forward to its next chapter of providing homes for working families on the West side,” says Machida.

Gentry Homes was established in 1968, and the company has built more than 14,000 homes statewide, including the popular Waipi‘o Gentry and the ‘Ewa by Gentry master- planned communities.
